Random Objects in a Dark Room
There's a John Mayer song from about 10 years ago called "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room", (note: I haven't listened to the lyrics in detail, so I'm not sure if it's super inappropriate or not) and all morning as I took these photos I sang it to myself but with "random objects in a super dark room".
The weather has been pretty m'eh recently and we've spent much of the last two weeks cooped up. I realized I hadn't posted photos in weeks and hadn't really taken any to share either. I took portraits of my coworker's daughter, but felt it would be odd to post them here, even though she was super cute.
So, in the absence of adventuring photos, I turned the downstairs bathroom into my personal studio for the morning (like I did last winter) and took photos of random objects. These actually have very little editing done to them. I'll take a photo of the set up next time, but these involve a black backdrop, a flashlight, and long exposures. I click the shutter and then quickly point the flashlight at my object then turn it off. My arms appear as weird ghosty streaks in some of the outtake photos.
I think these photos are proof that cabin fever is setting in and I'll make a point of doing something outside next weekend. :)
