The day before the wedding, we took a day trip from Meknes to Fez and Volubilis, some ancient (Roman?) ruins. Steu, being the lover of bad puns he is, would ask "Voluminous?" every single time our guide said "Volubilis". He, unlike me, never tired of the joke.
We went on the day trip with many of the other wedding guests, which included a number of friends from high school (and younger) that I hadn't seen in ages. It was fun to catch up with folks and to learn a bit in the process.
I'll be honest, I don't really remember a ton about what this ancient city was about. I remember the guide explaining that the roads were perpendicular, I remember parts had been rebuilt, and I remember we took a number of large group shots that were really funny to organize. Oh, and Steu pointed out that every place we went, I took a photo of a flower with the scenery behind it (pink flowers on the top of this post).
Those Romans sure did love their arches... :)
